    PROJECT BACKGROUND

    SCUD Group was founded in 1997 successfully listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange by the end of 2006. It is a high-tech enterprise offering comprehensive battery solutions for mobile and digital products through its own independent brand sales network, independent research and development technology and advanced manufacturing model. Along with the growing enterprise, SCUD Group plans to upgrade the offices with more efficient and intelligent environment for working and training. Expanding a number of conference rooms, huddle rooms and training rooms for business negotiation, recruitment interviews, and skill training.

    THE CHALLENGE

    In such an era of high efficiency, especially in business, people concerned about how to make the conference room smart, easy-installed, cable-free, and quick functions access while a meeting gets started. The efficiency and smart of a meeting has become the most team's expectations for modern conference rooms. Meanwhile, due to the pandemic, a set of video conferencing system becomes the dominant trend in the meeting and an indispensable element of a smart conference room.

    Besides, Scud Group is a company with thousands of employees, and it has big requirements for staff training, especially technical trainings for workers on production line. How to create a smart teaching environment in a training room and involve trainees who are present and absent (due to the limited training room size, most of the trainees have to study online) ? How to make the operation simple and reduce the time and learning cost? And is there any more stress-free way to management all the devices in a room? These issues are what Q-NEX is confronting in this project and has to figure way out.

    Q-NEX SOLUTION

    The ultimate goal of Q-NEX solution is to improve user experience, simplify operating process so as to provide a smart environment. We take up the digital transformation in SCUD Group that provides IQTouch all-in-one display for visualization of difficult abstract concepts and immediate access to new information on touch, Q-NEX Networked Media Processor with all-round IoT centralized device management system in a room, and lecture capture system for hybrid training that breaks through the limitations of time and space.

    TRANSFORMATION BEGINS HERE

    For Training Room

    Aided by the Q-NEX Lecture Capture Room Solution, transforming the traditional training room that relies on physical whiteboards, pens and erasers to smart one. New training room empowers presenting technical knowledge and resource access on large screen, offering online and offline blended training mode and centralized control system to manage the devices in the room.

    First, setting up an audio and video system in large training room with two IQTouch interactive displays and IQSound speakers. We provides professional AV system for high quality audio-visual performance, and dual displays for maximizing the visibility. Not only that, interactive displays enable free annotation, built-in whiteboard, wireless screen share for collaborating with multiple ideas, easier operation, and access rich resources, which greatly enhances the training presentation. But how can the AV system and multiple complex devices in the training room be controlled centrally and conveniently?

    There Q-NEX Networked Media Processor (NMP) comes. Connecting all the devices in the room, including lights and air-conditioner, to the highly integrated NMP which adopts cloud computing technologies for centralized device management. The devices in the training room can be controlled remotely and uniformly for powering on/off, scheduled tasks setting for unmanned operation, cloud storage, AV distribution etc, through the web-based platform Q-NEX Console and mobile App. It greatly reduces human resources and room management becomes simple and controllable.

    In addition, by installing lecture capture system in the training room, lecturing contents and views of lecturer and trainees can be recorded and uploaded to FTP server, or live streaming of the lecture can be pushed to cloud-based video platform, such as YouTube. The workers can watch live training anywhere as long as Internet is available. For trainees missed the session, they can consolidate knowledge by playback of recorded training videos to keep pace up with the other learners.
